The Big Carnival is the theme for this adventure that Zarc, a friendly character, and his friends, will present the skills concepts to the learner. The voice characterisation is intended to sound similar in age, or perhaps big brother to the learner.
Each explanation and example will be tracked and is followed by an exercise containing a number of tasks from a bank of randomly selected questions. Every step of the task in resolving the challenge will show workings out and display hints to help the learner understand and prepare the learner to repeat the same design question but with new variables.
Each level of the Exercise will mark if the learner has needed a hint and therefore record the level precisely for the Teacher to later see results and reports of the learners achievement and identify where remedial support may still be required.
The tracking is provided by Discovery, a Curriculum Delivery Management System.
