Online National Curriculum Tests- with less marking
The vast majority of teachers use past exam papers as part of their understanding of the level at which children are working. Inevitably, this results in a burden of marking and cross referencing data. SiR, working with the QCA, has developed a system designed to remove this burden and at the same time enhance both the degree to which it can be integrated into the classroom activities.
The program consists of a management system connected to sets of past National Curriculum test papers for English, Maths and Science at KS 1, 2 and 3. Additionally both optional and progress papers are included for years 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8.
It distinguishes between teachers and students by their individual log-on. These lead either to the pages that organise people, the tests and the results or, for learners, to the tests that have been assigned to them, and their feedback.
Once a teacher has identified individuals or groups, the system will
• assign and deliver papers
• mark answers, where possible, and show individual test histories
• “switch off” individual questions as required
• Allow teacher override, manual marking and manual entry of past scores
• Store teacher comments for feedback against papers or questions
• Analyse individual results to show areas of strength and weakness
• Analyse results to show a student’s present level in the three subjects
