Discovery is the outcome of an extensive consultation process with senior managers, subject co-ordinators and classroom teachers. The system supports simple but powerful curriculum planning - on a group and an individual student basis.
Teachers are able to select and sequence curriculum resources very easily and then present these resources to students. The types of resources that can be selected are broader than any other system currently available, because Discovery enables the teacher to combine both on and off computer learning experiences.
During the time a student undertakes an individualised Lesson Plan, Discovery compiles the results from completed Units of work and can then indicate a student's performance against pre-defined attainment levels. The large user-friendly controls create a simple to use application. Information stored on the system is both easy to retrieve and to edit.
The Discovery programs when used efficiently will enable a school to automate planning, and to implement and integrate educational software with other teaching resources. The multimedia authoring tool enables the teacher to design diverse and interesting computer based Units of work that will help release students potential.
