Moat Farm Junior School, SandwellIntroduction
The school targeted children on the S.E.N. register (Stage 2-5) and allocated
four x 25min sessions per child each week O.I.L.S.
The Evaluation
For the purpose of evaluating the effectiveness of the new Integrated Learning System
we have compared the progress made before and after its introduction.
The data has been broken down into Year Groups and classes but the names of the
children and staff have been removed for reasons of confidentiality. The Salford Reading
Tests were administered by class teachers as part of the normal testing lay down by the
school's Assessment Policy.
The Year 3 figures have not been included in the overall analysis. The reason for
this is that these children were not on role for the whole of the evaluation period.
However, the Year 3 figures are shown separately. These indicate the amount of
progress made in the 5-month period of access. (A year 4 class with only two S.E.N.
pupils has also been omitted for the same reason).
Evaluation Summary
- A total of 45 children on S.E.N. register (Stage 2-5) were involved in
the pre and post OILS evaluation.
- A further 14 year 3 children on S.E.N. register (Stage 2-5) were
involved in post OILS testing only.
