Use of Numeracy Software as a part of an OILS

Which may include Global Maths, Coco’s Maths Project, Zarc’s Maths, Complete Maths Workshop, Advanced Maths Workshop, FOSMA and Coypu.

N.B. These aims and outcomes are negotiable, but as they stand indicate the programme for the day.

Awareness of:

the external appearance and internal construction of the various units
the variety of exercises and demonstrations within the different programmes
the assessment procedures integral to the programmes
the educational philosophy behind the construction of the programmes and exercises within them
linked classroom resources - SMP
supporting materials - National Curriculum referencing

Access into:

Ability to:

select appropriate units for constructing workplans and profiles for use by specific target groups
design appropriate custom reports
print and interpret both standard and customised progress reports
use the programme for individual or small group action planning and review
integrate the units into classroom activity

1 day	-where it has been preceded by a half day on the use of the Discovery Management System
1¹/₂ days	-to include the use of the Discovery Management System
2 days	-one initial and one follow-up day following several weeks usage. This is negotiated to

Up to six people.

Computers with the software loaded and headphones, ideally one machine per person.
The materials provided with the software.
The NC materials, SMP guide (where appropriate) and Discovery Management System training manual.
Integration lesson plans.
Individual teacher’s own planning material - departmental programmes for curriculum delivery.
